HR Assistant

DESCRIPTION:  As the HR Assistant, Payroll & Benefit Administrator, you will provide vital support for the Human Resources operations function.  Your primary responsibilities will include support of all payroll and benefits administration - processing of payroll, workers compensation benefits, ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance, point of contact for employee inquiries and problem solving related to payroll and benefits, supporting health and wellness initiatives and events, providing data for management, compliance and reporting as needed, and assistance with special projects to support overall HR goals and initiatives. In this role, you will report to the HR Director and be part of a team-oriented, fast-paced environment supporting team members at both the St. Louis and Kansas City offices (no travel required).                                                    

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO (RESPONSIBLITIES):

  •  Payroll Administration
    •  Assist in the routine processing and validation of biweekly payrolls, leave benefits administration and fringe benefits as assigned
    • Ensure all federal, state and local taxes, 401(k) and benefit contributions are all properly deducted from employees' compensation as well as filed with the correct federal, state, and local institution
    • Audit payroll for accuracy, reconcile, and ensure all payroll accounting entries are completed accurately and timely
    • Field and respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  •  Provide support in the communication, consultancy and advice on benefit offerings- medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability, leaves, 401(k) plan, etc.
  •  Process, track, record keep and follow up on FMLA, leaves of absence, disability claims, workers compensation claims and related functions
  •  Assist with gathering information for related internal and external audits
  •  Assist with pre-employment screenings
  •  Assist in the coordination of Color Art's Wellness program
  •  Assist HR Director/Shared Services department with various projects as needed

 

HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS):

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 0-2 years of general HR/Payroll data management/office experience preferred
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Knowledge of ADP a plus
  • Must have strong detail orientation and high accuracy level
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, written communication, and strong work ethic
  • Interacts daily with associates at all levels throughout the organization
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking and prioritizing capabilities
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Ability to understand and follow applicable regulations, policies and procedures fully and consistently
  • Individual must practice strict confidentiality, regarding Payroll & Human Resource information
