Designer - Healthcare Team
GOAL: Create an exemplary Client and Sales Team EXPERIENCE through meeting and/or exceeding timelines, commitments, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
DESCRIPTION: Designer with a minimum of 1-3 years of HEALTHCARE or CORPORATE Design and product application experience. This person reports to the EVP of WST & Design with some direction from the Director of Healthcare. There are two primary responsibilities of this position. The first will be to handle all design aspects of client project work. Second, will be to lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the HEALTHCARE Design team in support of our customers and the Sales Team.
DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is a customer facing position. Good client interaction skills and managing client's expectations are expected
- Project and day-to-day design production work is maintained at approximately 60% of the job/time.
- Ability to create project timelines and estimate design hours prior to onset of project. Ability to manage to those timelines (commitments) for yourself and for your team members
- Ability to "drive" a project from start to finish
- Build strong, multiple level client relationships

- Need to be "results-oriented". (i.e., holding oneself and Team accountable for results)
- Must be outgoing, energetic and able to work well with clients.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to uncover customer needs and lead creative design development.
- Enjoys client interaction and can engage in a "sales" discussion.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients.
- Comfortable making presentations and demonstrating solutions to customers.
- Comfortable with budget discussions ability to learn product pricing. (i.e., Estimates, contracts, margins).
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to follow Design Team processes.
- Self-starter with a high level of responsiveness, adaptability and flexibility.
- Must have the ability to work well with others to accomplish HEALTHCARE Team goals.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and is detail oriented.
- Possesses the following: self-motivation, resourcefulness, positive and professional attitude.
- Initiate personal development to strengthen HEALTHCARE Team's expertise on products, issues, research, initiatives, LEED, etc.
- Require time management/prioritization skills and the ability to meet goals.(personally/team)
- Desire to work on a team as an effective contributing member.
- Strong communication skills Ability to seek to understand and question, not just "follow directions".
- Desire to develop sales understanding and thought process.
- Attend vendor meetings to assess new and unique product/training opportunities.
- Thorough working knowledge of products offered by Color Art and awareness of competitive product offerings. Ability to research competition to apply/provide products strategically.
DESIGN EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years of HEALTHCARE or CONTRACT Furniture experience Dealer experience preferred.
- Ability to run a design project from beginning to end meet deadlines and timelines.
- Creative development of presentation materials including, but not limited to, presentation boards, binders, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint or MRL
- Strong CAD/CAP and CET Designer, Revit Blue Beam
