Position Overview

High-­performance, front-­line sales position responsible for owning the sales process and driving measurable results for architectural products for Color Art Construction. This sales professional is responsible for calling directly on architects & designers, end users and other influencers for the purpose of selling architectural products (Steelcase and Dirtt), along with partnering with the Color Art Internal Sales Team in the pursuit of generating business. They will proactively manage relationships with general contractors.  In addition, this position requires a proven record of architectural or building construction sales achievement, as well as a thorough knowledge of the construction process and application of architectural products.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Build and manage relationships with customers, general contractors and key influencers
  • Facilitates an advanced solution discussion with existing and new accounts linking all of
  • Color Art's furniture and integrated interiors solutions
  • Educates A&D Firms, engineering firms, construction companies, project management firms as well as Color Art customer base on new ways of using Architectural Products portfolio
  • Easily move between business acumen (i.e., financial conversations) and design discussions (i.e., design sensibility)
  • Develop new business by being selfmotivated, self-­directed and willing to accept responsibility for results
  • Provide accurate sales forecast
  • Excellent team player and can easily engage others to support the broader strategy
  • Comfortable with and can excel in an environment that is detailoriented and complex

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an outside sales role calling on a varied client base
  • Proven background of sales performance with the selling of construction or architectural products preferred
  • Proven experience with sales strategy and determining how to best position one's offering to support the needs of the customer and the strategy
  • Strong understanding of how modular architecture supports the construction process
  • Must have a strong understanding of the interior construction process, including technical knowledge of products, buildings and building codes, as well as familiarity with construction contract law and project risk analysis
